Datasul and the companies from its Network have accepted the challenge of translating the speech, good will and growing awareness of their executive officers and contributors into Social Responsibility actions. The proposal of social responsibility is focused on education, elementary education and citizenship redemption, through a set of actions providing the committed relationship of the companies with the community. Some of these practices are consolidated as follows:

In partnership with City Department of Education, the TOC - Theory of Constraints methodology, successfully employed in corporate management, may be included in the curricular schedule as an interdisciplinary subject for the third grade of elementary school. The purpose is to teach children ways of solving conflicts and developing argumentation. The outcomes of the pilot-project at Centro de Apoio Integral à Criança e ao Adolescente Mariano Costa (Full Support Center for Children and Adolescents Mariano Costa), in the district Adhemar Garcia, have been presented in a seminar, in the USA. Datasul aims at extending it throughout the country in partnership with city halls and interested organizations.

More than 100 poor children, from 3 to 15 years old, take part in crafting, sports and alphabetization courses. The franchise Datasul HCM collaborates with a monthly amount and the Corporation pays for scholarships for outstanding youths of the community.

Kept by Datasul Tecnologia, with support from the corporation and other Group companies, the computing school teaches since 2003 underprivileged teenagers. They are qualified in programming language, with diploma from SENAC, and forwarded to internship and/or hiring at Datasul and partner companies. The purpose is to give a chance to the first job.

Datasul Logística has provided a complete Computing Room at the Elementary School Senador Rodrigo Lobo. It sponsors basic-computing classes for free, for elementary-school students from 5th to 8th grades. For a second stage, activities related to sports and culture are also forecasted.

A group of contributors adopted the State Public School Elpídio Barbosa for acting as partners within this educational community. At meetings with teachers, parents and students, the institution’s needs are pointed out and the means for executing the projects are discussed.

Entity focused on providing social assistance to the community from district Jardim Paraíso, in the outskirts of Joinville. The franchise Datasul Manufatura has collaborated with this institution since 2004.

Every year, in May, the Grêmio Esportivo e Recreativo Datasul (Datasul Sport and Recreation Center) conducts a campaign for collecting food and warm clothing. In 2005, 600 contributors from nine teams collected the record mark of 45 tons in food and clothes. The donations are forwarded to social entities in Joinville.

Maintained by Datasul Medical, one of its major purposes is the study of deaf children’s narrative in order to understand some of the issues proposed by this sensory difference for the knowledge subjectiveness build-up. It is also part of the job to enable deaf people for acquiring knowledge on Internet and blogs.
